Communications & Content Portfolio
One full range of work across six different hats: a full-time communications role, an independent consulting practice, past staff and contract jobs, a personal brand and influencer platform, and teaching.
Georgia Legal Services Program
W-2 employer. Statewide Communications Specialist, walking a vacant function into a functioning one: video, access materials, internal storytelling, systems, and campaign support. The through-line: built the function from scratch, turned dense legal information into materials people actually use, and diagnosed root causes instead of symptoms.
Legal Kiosk Program (2026 Pilot)
Statewide rollout of free civil legal self-help kiosks in rural Georgia. Owned the communications arm end to end: on-site filming, launch reels, print, and coordination across partner organizations.
Crisis and Access Materials
Turning dense legal and benefits information into brochures, posters, and flyers people can actually use, often on deadline for a specific event.
Employee & Organizational Storytelling
Stakeholder-sensitive content about GLSP's own people: new leadership rollouts, recruitment, and a "Who We Are" initiative.
Systems & Process Building
Inherited a vacant, undocumented function and built the infrastructure: intake SOP, revision limits, an AI policy, and a full-year 2027 content plan.
Fundraising & Campaign Support
Early-stage planning for an end-of-year "Adopt a County" giving campaign and a newsletter and good-news content workflow for the executive director.

Social media management, content creation, social listening, and community management for the diocese.

Owned the full editorial run of the quarterly membership magazine for an international civic and service organization, from sourcing to layout.

Seven in-person strategic communication courses, from Professional Media Writing to a service-learning Campaign Principles course with real community clients, plus the We Love the Hype podcast and two department committees.
Adjunct Lecturer of Communications
Public Speaking, Organizational Communication, Public Relations, Rhetoric and Public Culture, New & Experimental Media, and Human Communication across Gordon State, Upper Iowa, and ABAC.
Teaching Philosophy & Course Design
Communication taught the way it is actually used: clear expectations as respect, grading against the assignment rather than the room, evidence over claims, AI disclosed and cited, and a portfolio instead of a final exam.
Education, Research & Honors
M.S. in AI Strategy and Innovation (Wake Forest), M.A. in Communication & Leadership (Gonzaga), B.A. from Mercer. Thesis on how new media reshapes Southern symbols.
Speaking & Guest Lectures
Invited talks, symposia, and speaker series on social media, branding, blogging, and Southern identity, from the American Advertising Federation in 2013 to a monthly slot with the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta today.
St. Peter Claver Catholic School
Director of Admissions & Marketing, a full-time role held through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Admissions & Marketing Communications
Almost three years running admissions and marketing for a Catholic elementary school through the pandemic: school videos, alumni features, and the day-to-day documenting of classroom life.
The Southern Weekend
Digital Content Editor (contract) for the Southern lifestyle media brand.
Spotify Playlists
Conceptualized, created, and launched the brand's Spotify playlist series, including "Wildwood Revival."
Love, Molly Kate
The audience-facing personal brand (@lovemollykate): the blog and its history, twenty-three years of bylines, and influencer and UGC work done as herself rather than on behalf of a client.
Love, Molly Kate
Fifteen years and three brand evolutions: Make It Work Molly, Southern Bon Vivant, and With Grit(s) & Grace, including a CVB-contracted travel video series.

The Bigger Numbers
Social figures come from Sprout Social reporting.
How These Roles Connect
One communications skill set, six different containers
The same instincts, plain language under pressure, data-backed reporting, brand-building from a blank page, show up whether the audience is legal aid clients in rural Georgia, a statewide business publication, or her own personal following.
Builds systems, not just deliverables
At GLSP that meant SOPs and an AI policy for a vacant function; for consulting clients it meant sustainable, multi-year growth strategy rather than one-off content. The pattern repeats: fix the process, not just the post.
Earns coverage instead of buying it
The Nu-Way Weiners and Social Duck press pickups weren't accidents, they came from direct outreach to reporters and hosts, and follow-through after the pitch landed.
Comfortable as both the operator and the face
Some of this work is entirely behind the scenes (GLSP, client SMM); some of it, the influencer campaigns, the podcast, the blog, puts her own name and voice out front. Both modes draw on the same underlying craft.
